With this model we aimed at model enthusiasts who are locking for a bargain multi purpose model. It may be used for: teaching large model beginners, 3 D exercising, flying engine test stand and last but not least for glider towing. The model has two separate wing panels, which will be installed by one aluminium tube to the fuselage. Due to the low weight but strong construction it is not only possible to install a petrol engine, but also a gear driving electrical engine may be used. The batteries will find enough stowage room in the tank bay. The fwd. large access cover starting from behind the firewall, leading beyond the cockpit is screwed in place with only two screws. By removing these two screws you will easily have access to the tank, batteries and radio which will enable to carry out maintenance work quick and easy. Stabilizer and fin form one part and hold in place by two screws only. So this part may be removed quickly which makes transportation easy. The mod. Eppler 473 wing section provides a large range of possible velocities. It starts at very low “speed” (stall is a symmetric hardly to notice nose down), going up to a high speed which is depending on the power of the installed engine. 3D flights will be enabled by a 70ccm (420cu.in) 2 stroke engine. I currently have a 60 ccm Zenoah with a MR gear installed. With this engine the model climbs nearly vertically and provides excellent power towing gliders. |
