I have flown the Albatros at several Scale competitions where I could show its excellent flying performance. On a first approach it seems to be impossible that a model with such a lot of rigging wires and aerodynamic fouls (dummy engine, water cooler in the upper wing, machine guns, etc.) does show such brave and superb flying characteristics. All aerobatic exercises (Loops, Turns and even inverted flight) may be practised and are easy to be controlled. Take off and landing are a feast for the eyes and also can be enjoyed by the pilot due to very low RC work load required during these figures. Having such a good and easy to cope with flying performance the Albatros recommends itself to be used not only at Scale Competitions.
The
kit and its details have been manufactured
by Proctor as close as possible to the original. Not only the model
itself with its structure (Bulkhead shape and Longerons) is authentic
but also a detailed dummy engine and the water cooler form part of the
kit. Dash board and some of the instruments are with the kit as well.
With only some minor additional parts the control stick and - pedals may
be installed such that they will follow their relevant servo. All
rigging – and rudder actuation wires with necessary pulleys are also
in the box.
Foe
the ease of building the fuselage a jig is also incorporated.
All parts for a working step are packed separately.
Approximately……… form part of the kit. The ribs with weight
saving cut outs are made from 0.6mm ply wood. All bars and parts are
already pre-cut to length or to shape so that they just have to be glued
in place.
After
having finished the project you just need to order the wheels and a
pilot. For those of you who have no engine yet for
that beauty we would recommend a Laser V 240 or 300. If you want
to build your model after the
beautifully refurbished Albatros in the Smithsonian
we will be able to support your project with the necessary five
colour covering (Lozenge camouflage) material.
