Spad S.XIII

1:4

By our second development in quarter scale we were able to close WW 1 gap in modelism. The SPAD is one of those well known WW 1 aircrafts but it was not available as a model kit until today. Intensive investigations enabled us to build a very detailed scale model.

Many accessories are already with the kit, many parts are pre-fabricated, which will allow to build this model in an average equipped hobby shop. For example, you will find covering metal sheeting, the SPAD’s characteristic cooling vents and rocker covers all pre shaped as part of the kit. All fittings are there as turnbuckles, rigging wires, two ready to be installed Vickers guns and a GFR engine cowling. Ready to be installed ribs and bulkheads are mandatory in our kit. The detailed drawings will help you to reach the goal, the maiden flight, quickly. A set of photographs from an original or a replica should give your SPAD the final touch. If you did follow the drawings / instructions and all adjustments have been carried out as required you can look forward to the maiden flight. Now you will be able to assess the high performance of the SPAD’s original  wing profile. Aerobatics which are within the original’s flight performance may be carried out with ease. Loops, turns, and steady heavy side slips ( I do not know any other model which will do the side slips as the SPAD) are the basics. If you increase  engine power  the SPAD will be able to do even more aerobatics, but that will not be scale.
