Spad S.XIII 

After the drawings for  the quarter scale version had been finished we carried on with the next bigger size, the third scale version of the SPAD. The contents of the third scale kit is absolutely identical to that of the quarter scale version (absolutely comparable in completeness, quality and number of pre – shaped parts)  except wheels have been added which will be difficult to obtain in the required size.  

This kit comes as the smaller version with numerous accessories and pre- shaped parts which will enable the model to be built in an average modeller shop. Only for caring out the final assembly and measurements you should have the necessary space available (but ask your wife first before you will occupy your living room for this job). All metal  covers, and metal sheets with the characteristic cooling lovers are ready to be installed. In addition you will find the rocker covers, turnbuckles, rigging wires, Vickers guns, a GFRP engine cowling and pre-manufactured ribs and bulkheads as this is usual for our kits.   

The flight performance of the third scale version is absolutely comparable to that of the smaller one. The model does all you will be able to do if there is enough power available but this would be not a scale like flying. Favourites of that plane are loops, turn and of course a side slip second to none. It’s stall behaviour is easily to be controlled, if too slow it will gain speed by pitching the nose slightly downwards but not tip over  wings.
